As part of its ongoing commitment to grass roots community projects since 2013, Toyota Australia, in partnership with the City of Port Phillip, has provided grants of up to $1,000 to a number of community groups in the Port Phillip municipality.

This year, 25 community groups, including The Salvation Army - Youth and Family Services, South Melbourne Primary School, and Elwood Community Playgroup, were selected by a representative panel of Toyota Australia employees in consultation with the City of Port Phillip to receive grants to further drive the success of their projects.

Toyota Australia's Vice President of Product and Corporate Operations Mike Rausa was joined by City of Port Phillip Mayor Cr Dick Gross at a special ceremony at Toyota Australia's head office in Port Melbourne to formally handover the cheques.

Mr Rausa said the grants, totalling almost $24,000, are part of a wider Toyota Australia program to help grass roots communities across Australia.

"We are delighted to continue our longstanding partnership with the City of Port Phillip to provide grants to local community groups. These grants will support the selected groups in continuing to make valuable contributions in the local community," Mr Rausa said.

City of Port Phillip Mayor, Cr Dick Gross said, "Grants are vital to the success and longevity of many fantastic community organisations which help us keep Port Phillip the liveable, caring and inclusive City we all love. I would like to thank everyone at Toyota for their valuable contribution to our Community Grants Program - this really is a wonderful partnership".
